NAFARI is emerging as a prominent Incubation Centre in Food Sector through its new Product, Process, and Service developments. The institute is professionally managed by a Governing Council. It also has been operating as a Meso-organization, and implementing Small Industries Development bank of India’s Project- Business Development Services capability development for Fruit and Vegetable processing Cluster in Pune region, for technical, human resource development and consultancy services.


Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) was promoting Food sector activities through its Agriculture & Agribusiness Sub-Committee. MCCIA, established in 1934 is recognized as one of the most pro-active Chamber of Commerce in India. The Chamber acts as a nodal agency and resource centre for industry, trade, commerce and agriculture. To maintain pace of development in the food cluster, MCCIA and COFIT, in association with SIDBI, worked on the initiatives under UNIDO’s Cluster Development Programme and set up of a state-of-the-art Food Testing Laboratory called National Agricultural & Food Analysis & Research Institute (NAFARI)in Pune, Maharashtra to help Food Processing Manufacturers and long-term sustainability of food products.
